The Cornell NanoScale Science & Technology Facility (CNF) is a national user facility that supports a broad range of nanoscale science and technology projects by providing state-of-the-art resources coupled with expert staff support.

"Clarkson University, formerly Clarkson College of Technology, is a private university located in rural Potsdam, New York. It was founded in 1896 and has an enrollment of about 3,000 students studying towards bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in each of its three schools: the School of Business, School of Arts & Sciences, and the Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering.

Disciplines: General

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was founded in 1968. In 1995, the undergraduate program of Manufacturing Engineering was established. A Petroleum Engineering minor was added to the Mechanical Engineering program in 1997. To reflect the change of these Programs, the department was renamed as the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in 1998. A Mechatronics Engineering minor was added to the Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering programs in 2002.

Disciplines: Nanofluidics

The Fitzpatrick Center for Photonics and Communications Systems at Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering represents a fundamental shift from a traditional academic departmental focus by bringing together faculty from across scientific disciplines working in four research initiatives: biology, photonics, materials and integrated sensors. The Center was established at Duke University in December 2000 by a $25,000,000 gift from Michael and Patty Fitzpatrick.

The University of Leeds (Yorkshire, United Kingdom) houses the Centre for Nano-Device Modeling and the NanoManufacturing Institute. The University conducts research in nano-related mathematics, modeling, materials, optics and elcetronics.
